The Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand, after hearing all parties (Petitioner College, All India Council for Technical Education, Department of Higher, Technical Education & Skill Development, Govt. of Jharkhand, State Board of Technical Education and Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board), quashed the order of the Jharkhand Govt. (letter no. 999 dtd 21.11.2017) to reduce all types of supernumerary seats in the academic year 2018-19 to zero.

  • The institute gave representation to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Department of Higher, Technical Education & Skill Development, Govt. of Jharkhand and Jharkhand University of Technology to conduct examination for the students admitted the AY 2018-19 under the Lateral Entry Scheme in the light of the judgement dated 30.01.2019 of Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand (W.P.C. No. 2052 of 2018).
  • Notice as been displayed on the institute notice board and website informing the Lateral Entry students of AY 2018-19 about the order (dated 30.01.2019) of the Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand and request that has been made to the AICTE, Jharkhand University of Technology and Govt. of Jharkhand to regularize the students and conduct examinations for the Lateral Entry students.

Based on the decision of the Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi (W.P.C. No. 2052 of 2018), the AICTE has advised the institute (BITT Polytechnic) to appear before the Standing Hearing Committee to be held on 1st March, 2019 at the AICTE HQ in New Delhi along with all relevant documents.

BITT Polytechnic made detailed submissions before the Standing Hearing Committee of AICTE in matters relating to the verdict of Court Case No. W.P. (C) No. 2012 of 2018 filed in Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand at Ranchi.

  • Standing Hearing Committee of AICTE, vide its letter dated 07.03.2019, remarked that the students were admitted in the 2nd year under Lateral Entry as per scheme framed by the AICTE. So, the Standing Hearing Committee recommended that students admitted in the institution under Lateral Entry scheme shall continue and complete their course. The recommendation of the Standing Hearing Committee has been approved by the Competent Authority of AICTE.
  • In the light of verdict of the Hon’ble High Court on dated 30.01.2019 and decision of AICTE dated 07.03.2019, the institute, without any delay, requested the Jharkhand Govt. and Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi for regularization of admission of all Lateral Entry students and early conduction of their semester examinations.

In the light of verdict of the Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand (W.P. (C) No. 2012/2018) and recommendation of AICTE, the Department of Higher, Technical Education & Skill Development, Govt. of Jharkhand, in its letter dated 29/03/2019, has directed the Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi for registration of all 54 students who have taken admission under Lateral Entry scheme in the academic year 2018-19 (of session 2017-20) and to conduct their examinations at the earliest.

In the light of verdict of the Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand (W.P. (C) No. 2012/2018), recommendation of AICTE, New Delhi and letter dated 29.03.2019 of Department of Higher, Technical Education & Skill Development, Govt. of Jharkhand, Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), Ranchi, in its letter dated 06.04.2019, directed the institute for registration of all students who have taken admission under Lateral Entry scheme in the academic year 2018-19.
